Almost 200 Toys Collected in Toys for Tots Campaign
Alisyn Schreiber and her co-workers at Massage Envy Rowlett know that Christmas is all about gifts given, not gifts received. The result…almost 200 toys for area children.
Partnering with Toys for Tots, the annual Marine Corps campaign for needy children, the staff at the Rowlett Massage Envy clinic collected toys for more than four weeks before Christmas.
“We believe that every child should be able to open a present on Christmas morning,” Ms. Schreiber said. “And every family should be able to celebrate the holiday season without stress or worry.”
Spearheaded by Ms. Schreiber, the clinic offered incentives to both clients and the staff to donate toys. Toys for Tots signs and a donation box were prominently displayed at the clinic during November and December.
“We chose to work with Toys for Tots this Christmas because we care about bringing joy and happiness to those who aren’t as fortunate as others,” Ms. Schreiber said. “Many of us are parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and we wanted to be able to reach out to families in the DFW area. Next year, we want to shoot for 300 toys.”
“We’re so happy and proud of our staff,” said Dr. Rick Klics and his wife, April, owners of Massage Envy Rowlett. “This was their idea, and they did all of the work to make this so successful. It really feels good to give back to our community.”
Several Massage Envy clinics in the D/FW area joined with the U.S. Marine Corps and its Toys for Tots program.
