Massage Envy clinics in McKinney and Frisco have won Readers’ Choice Awards as the best massage therapy in those communities for the second year in a row.

Star Community Newspapers, which publishes in both McKinney and Frisco, presents the awards annually to local businesses chosen by vote of the newspapers’ readers.

The Massage Envy clinic in Rowlett joined forces with its clients to collect food for the Rowlett food bank. The result: more than 240 food items were donated last month for local residents in need.

“I can’t tell you how proud I am of our employees who headed the drive and the dozens of Rowlett residents who contributed,” said Dr. Richard Klics, owner of Massage Envy Rowlett. “The food donations almost filled my pickup truck. It was a great response from our community.”

In return for their donations, the clinic offered its clients such prizes as a free Aroma Therapy upgrade, a Deep Heat Relief Muscle Therapy, or a 30-minute massage upgrade.

Clinic employees Alisyn Schreiber and Vivian Ortiz headed the drive. “They did an excellent job getting the word out to our clients,” said Dr. Klics. “More and more people are turning to food banks because of rising prices and high unemployment. We were glad to be able to help out.”
